Long before democratic socialists like Bernie Sanders and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez were household names, socialist Kshama Sawant won an openly socialist campaign for the Seattle City Council in 2013. After a decade, Kshama left office with an unparalleled record of victories for the working class, which stands as an important and unique contrast to the failures, betrayals, and broken promises by the Democratic Party, including its so-called progressive wing.

For nearly a year, the Israeli government has carried out a genocidal war against Gaza, only possible with U.S. political support and military funding by Democratic President Joe Biden, Vice President Harris, and both parties of U.S. imperialism. We need an international mass movement against the war, and a new anti-war political party for working people.
